A Drama on The Life of Jesus Performed by P.G. People

Performing drama is not as easy as studying it in the classroom. 25th Nov, 2013 was a day when we were given an opportunity to learn and perform dram by P.G. Department of our college. We were provided Mr. Chetan Dave as director, the best in Porbandar. He started with theory sessions on drama and for a week we learnt history, dramatic techniques and much more which are very important for performing drama. Responsibilities of stage properties, props, makeup, costume, etc. were distributed among us.  Then we started practicing drama on stage. Finally the day came and we performed the drama “Masiha” based on the life of Jesus on 1st Jan, 2014 on Munibharat Rangmunch at our college. We were reward for our hard work with thunderous applause. We are thankful to the management and our principal Dr. Nagarsir for providing us such an opportunity.

22 Dec, 2013 was awaited day of the year. It was a picnic day. We all reached at 7 am to our college to start our journey to the most beautiful and exotic place, Aashapura-Ghumli. We all together 25 along with 3 professors started enjoying with Ganesh Stuti and Gayatri Mantra. Around 9 am, we reached Ghumli and welcomed with icy breeze that made us overwhelmed. Holding each other’s hand, we started tracking towards the temple of Maa Aashapura and luckily we reached at the time of Arti. Having filled with spiritual tranquillity, we enjoyed nature uphill and took snapshots all together. Everyone felt hunger after returning down from the hill so we took breakfast that we prepared at home.

Funky dressed all of us moved towards Triveni Sangam. Around 11 we reached there and after having blessings of Mahadev, we started playing games like Truth and Dare, Passing the Ball, etc. that extracted the secret of students as well as our professors. It was an amazing part of our picnic that we will never forget. Then we enjoyed delicious homemade meal. There were too many items on the menu including Gulab Jamun, Dudhpak, Pasta Rice, etc. that confused us about what to eat and what not to eat.

We then went to an ancient temple Bileshwar Mahadev and nearby wonderful place called Fodara Dam. There we felt that we were in the lap of nature. We also learnt photography from our sirs. Soon the sun began to set and we set back on bus to return home. But the picnic was not yet over. While returning to Porbandar we visited a wonderful place. It was an old age home named Amar Jyot Ashram. One of our friend stays there and serves his best. It was an amazing experience meeting lovely people there.

It was an unforgettable day for all of us. We enjoyed everything and had fun all together. We all P.G. People are friends but the day we spent together brought closer to each other. It was an incredible experience.
