Navratri Celebration

12th October,2013 – Teaching a sense of culture and unity is the spirit of any Indian festival and Navratri is a portrayal of colour, action, music and devotedness. Dr. V. R. Godhaniya College Post Graduate Centre of English celebrated Navratri in a Grand manner. Students along with Staff dressed in colourful traditional Gujarati costume and performed Raas and Garba. Dr. Sulbha Devpurkar, Prof. Nita Borisagar and Prof. Mahesh Kikani judged and awarded Gohel Disha first for Best Player and Vadher Nilam for second while Kava Ekta and Mehta Kunjan achieved first and second rank respectively for Best Attire. The best part of the evening was spirited presence of Dr. Harin Majithia and Dr. Ketki Pandya. Altogether dignitaries and students enjoyed the sacred festival joyfully.

      Most welcome jalpa,it was our last navratri in the great college as pg students,we enjoyed a lot & truely speaking we will come next year as x students if invited.

    Glorious, garba is a folk dance originated in the Gujarat region and enjoyed during the festival of Navratri.

    PG people always rocks whever they are …..yes tht was really preciouse and memorable navratra…if i say in gujrati ” garba nd dj dandiya ni tale PG family ni sathe rang jamyo to ho……:)
