Teacher’s Day Celebration

06 Sep

5th September, 2013 – Dr. V. R. Godhaniya Post Graduate Centre of English organised Elocution and Debate Competitions on the pious occasion of Teachers’ Day. Dr. Anupam Nagar invoked the blessings of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore by offering a flower to his portrait. Having paid respect to Dr. Anupam Nagar and Sh. Hirak Jogia with flowers, Students commenced the elocution competition on Education wherein Kiran and Brijraj excelled by obtaining first rank while Afsana and Pushpa along with Priya achieved second and third rank respectively. Furthermore, students also enthusiastically took part in debate on The Division of States in India. Although both teams presented their arguments very effectively and substantiated their points through various illustrations and examples, the team which argued against the motion proved to be a clear winner. Subsequently, Dr. Nagar endowed the students by sharing his valuable perspective on an ideal teacher. Thereafter Dr. Nagar awarded the winners with mementos followed by the concluding remarks of Sh. Hirak Jogia on the importance of discipline.

Where the mortal body with immortal soul,
See Lord my country has awaken,
Having spiritual power, souls feel Heaven.”
